Roopa Satish

An alumnus of IIM Lucknow, Roopa has been a career banker with over 30+ years of experience in domestic and multinational banks like BNP Paribas, ABN Amro and IndusInd Bank. She brings with her rich domain experience in specialised areas like Project and Infrastructure Finance, Structured Finance, Debt Capital Markets & Real Estate Finance. An avid green thinker, Roopa has set up the Climate & Project Finance Unit at IndusInd Bank and financed over USD 2.5 bn of debt in Clean Energy across 50 + projects.

A certified CFA Analyst in ESG Investing, Roopa set up the Environment and Social Risk Assessment Model in IndusInd and chaired the ESG Risk Committee for Corporate Banking, integrating ESG risk assessment with Credit appraisal systems.

She also has experience in setting up Off-shore Banking Unit for Banks and FIs and is a member of India’s International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) Committee on Sustainable Finance for mobilizing international capital inflows to India. 

She brings in strong experience in Blended Finance, Impact Investing and Gender lens Investing built on risk sharing partnerships with International Development Finance & Philanthropic Institutions.

Under her leadership, IndusInd Bank emerged as a market leader in India in the ESG space, with consecutive awards from EuroMoney, AsiaMoney and Financial Times for the Bank.
